Campbell Sign Services provide a range of specialist signage consultancy services to the sign and construction industries in both the private and public sectors.

Regardless of how large or small the project is, we will always keep our clients fully informed throughout the process and guarantee to complete on time, to the agreed brief and within budget.

Our consultancy services fall into three main categories:

1) Comprehensive signage consultancy package

This option would normally apply in the case of larger facilities such as hospitals, corporate headquarters facilities, shopping centres etc. After an initial meeting with the client or Architect we would be given a brief on the specific requirements which the signage should achieve, and exactly what deliverables we will be submitting on completion. We would then submit a fixed price quotation for the contract.

On this type of project we normally spend a considerable amount of time on site to get a feel for the pedestrian and vehicular traffic flow, and more importantly to highlight areas where particular problems may arise. Our completed consultancy document will contain some or all of the following elements:

Detailed report and recommendation for proposed signage.

Specifications for proposed signage: materials, colours, letter styles, sizes etc.

Drawings Schedule with individual scale drawings for every sign proposed.

2) Project Management Services

Due to the specialist skills required on signage contracts, some clients prefer to hand over all aspects of signage production and installation to ourselves. On projects such as these we work very closely with the client. We schedule regular meetings, prepare timetables, submit progress reports, liaise with Architects, Designers, Planning Authorities and Sign Manufacturers. Every aspect from initial design concept through to on-site supervision of the signage installation will be managed by ourselves.

Pricing Schedule containing budget prices for signs and installation costs.

The information contained within this completed report can be incorporated into a Tender Specification Document which can be submitted to prospective sign manufacturers for pricing. We also incorporate a request for specific sample signs which should be submitted with the completed tender. These samples would be tested for quality of materials, graphic content, paint adhesion and colour accuracy to ensure that the successful tenderer has the capability to produce signage to the required standard.

3) Surveying Services

Another area of consultancy work which we specialise in is surveying. These surveys are normally carried out on the instructions of Architects, Designers or Sign Manufacturers and usually consist of an information gathering excercise for premises which are about to undergo a refurbishment or perhaps a change in corporate image. Basic surveys normally involve taking sizes of existing fascias, and digital photographs of the building frontage. If more detailed information is required scale drawings of exterior and interior elevations with all relevant sizes can be provided. We can supply photographs and drawings either on disk, by e-mail, or sent by ISDN direct to clients in either Macintosh or Windows format.

Whichever type of consultancy package is commissioned, client confidentiality is always respected. This is reflected in the fact that our sub-contract consultancy work for other Sign Manufacturers and Consultants accounted for approximately 40% of our turnover last year.
